Hello,
I just came across a website for ALS. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between ALS and Kennedys? Confused

My understanding is that ALS has the same genetic mutation as KD, but in a different location. Much different result; ALS is fatal.

Cam, One of the issues in trying to diagnose someone with ALS is that there is no concrete DNA test for ALS that is why so many men that now have been diagnosed with KD through a Kennedy's Disease DNA test were first diagnosed as having ALS. The closest DNA match is Huntinton's Disease. you were on the right track, KD symptoms match what ALS individuals have but a a slower progression rate.
