Location: Michigan Registered: 12-15-2010 Posts: 2 | My father has Kennedy's Disease and I had lots of cramping issues and thought they may be related to being a carrier. Well, as things worsened, I was eventually diagnosed at age 56 with multiple sclerosis. I am wondering if this may be somewhat common with other carriers. |
Registered: 08-28-2016 Posts: 9 | Hi Cathy, Sorry to hear you have MS. As far as I know MS doesn't relate to KD. I didn't remember any mention of that kind of relationship in the literature. In KD, the nerve cells and muscle cells are affected, in MS, the myelin-producing, non-neural cells. So they may coincide, but accidentally only. I wish you good health. István Reinhardt |
