Registered: 05-07-2012 Posts: 29 | I saw this article today "Have scientists found a cure..." and wondered if this is just another false alarm. If not, why couldn't this research apply to Kennedy's Disease? |
![]() Registered: 09-28-2005 Posts: 654 | I am not a researcher or doctor, but this is what I know. The research is preliminary and a long way from a trial (at least one year). ALS is an upper and lower motor neuron disease and KD is a lower motor neuron disease. The SOD1 gene is what is being focused on. It is a different gene than the one that has been associated with KD. Yet, wouldn't it be wonderful if they could find a treatment for ALS. |
