Just a thought for folks who fall. How about trying to remember to put cell phone in pocket of pajamas before getting up in the middle of the night. If one falls and gets stuck, you have the ability to call family members in the same house or 911 for help. My mother has fallen outside and badly hurt herself and was black & blue for months. We prompted her to always grab the phone, put in pocket when going outside or to the bathroom. It becomes second nature to grab it. Always keep it with you and charged.

I keep my cell on a lanyard around my neck whenever I'm dressed.

I use a walker and I keep an old cell phone attached to it. You can't make regular calls but you can call 911 from phones that are no longer under contract.

Let you family and friends know you want their discard and stash a few in spots you may be w/o your usual cell phone. Store these phones turned off and charge them at at least every other month.
