Question:
My mother is still alive and seems to have many symptoms of KD such as Distal weakness and Cramps and pain radiating from the buttocks down the legs to the feet. She also has had her whole life cold feet. I was wondering if any of your mothers are still living and experience any of the KD symptoms?

Choices:
Yes, my mother has symptoms
No, my mother is ok
My mother has passed away

My mother always suffered from severe cramps which I have always suspected to be related to Kennedys.

Despite talking to a specialist she has alway refused to accept that she is in any way involved with my Kennedys!!

My mother always suffered from cramps too. Also gradual loss of "sense" in her feets with age. (she is now 87, hardly alieve)
She was ones diagnosed "neuropati" (swedish word?)
I am convinced there is some kind of korrelation with my KD even though she can´t get KD as defined.

Something very strange is going on with my brother. For the past 4 years my brother who is 1 1/2 years older than me has been showing many of the signs of KD. No reflexes in his legs, Muscle cramping, Throat choking, He can't hold his arm over his head long at all or hold a drill up for hardly any time, His legs give out on him and he has to pull himself up stairs by the rails. His doctor has had the KD DNA blood test run on him 2 times in a row now by two different labs and his CAG repeats are only 27 and he checks negative for the mutation. I am not sure what to think. Feedback is welcome.

My mother passed away several years ago, but in her later years she did show many signs of having KD. Leg weakness, falling down, balance issues, clearing of the throat, etc. were just some of the symptoms that manifested over time. Most symptoms did not become obvious until her 70's and 80's, however.

Both my brother and I have recently been diagnosed with Kennedys ( brother died in July - heart problem apparently unrelated! ). Mother died aged 83 and with hindsight displayed symptoms - tremors, swallowing problems etc. One of her sisters died of Parkinsons!

Afternoon

My grandfather was diagnosed with KD, and my mother and all 5 of her sisters are diagnosed carriers, with symptoms. Tremors, cramps, weakness....

Now me, too.
