Registered: 08-02-2009 Posts: 204 | I have been having some trouble with weakness in my lower back muscles. I have been doing exercises to improve the strength but I think I am getting to the point where I will need a back brace or lumbosacral orthosis. I would greatly appreciate any advice such as: - What kind of LSO do you use and what do you like/dislike about it? - Do you just buy one in your size, or is it helpful to go to a professional to get it fitted correctly? If yes, what kind of specialist do you see: orthotist, physical therapist, or what? Thank you! |

Exercise does help, but will not resolve the progression. A physical therapist or orthotist can help recommend and fit you with a brace, if needed. As you learn more, please add your experiences and recommendations in the forum. It will be greatly appreciated. |

Ever since, my back has been aching, especially when I sit for long hours at a time. I relied on both physiotherapy and acupuncture to relieve the pain and allow my back to fully heal. My physiotherapist recommended a lower back brace to provide me extra back support. Through my research online, I found a wide array of back braces to choose from. My experience with back pain is that, with proper care, support and exercise, will keep the problem at bay. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Bruce, |
